Windows Photo Gallery cannot display Vista Icons

Windows Photo Gallery cannot display Vista Icons
When you double-click a Vista icon, for example acwizard.ico in
windows\system32, Windows Photo Gallery says "Photo Gallery can't open this
picture or video. The file appears to be damaged or corrupted".

It's not corrupted, but the compressed graphics within the icon appear to
upset Photo Gallery.

do you know that photo gallery SHOULD be able to display icons? im gonna say
probably not, but i could be wrong. an icon isnt a simple "image" file

As far as I know, you can view the icon file as a thumbnail in explorer, but
not open it up using Paint of Photo Gallery.

Yes. It displays icons that aren't internally compressed just fine.

It is a mistake for it to say that the example icon I mentioned is corrupted.
