ok Kerry... tell me how a novice will actually know how to log on to another
user, since he/she will be using the welcome screen and like most computers
will have only one user... or may autologon and not even see a welcome
screen at all! lol

Its not the fact that windows is a program and it has bugs that is the
problem.
I know that of course. It is MS attitude AND YOURS INCLUDED,
that is arrogant beyond belief, thinking that Vista is a great OS,
and is secure, even more than linux or macs!

You should become a politician....

Ill tell you what. Lets cut the power cord of your computer, smarty pants,
it wont be "compromised" but you wont be able to use it either...
You like that idea? (don't try this with it plugged in though since you may
get electrocuted)

gesh....

MS win98 or xp or vista or any other can be made secure if enough time and
energy and money is expended on the problem. The question is - should you
have to? I've been running Linux on four home computers for five years on
the internet 24/7/365 with a broadband connection. To date there have been
zero malware infestations and basically zero time and effort expended on
the issue.

Re: Vista is a secure OS... YEAH RIGHT~~!
You still haven't said whether the system was compromised or not. Is this
because you have no idea or is it because you know it wasn't and don't want
to admit it? Your mythical novice wouldn't be able to navigate to a
different account in Linux or OS X either. Have you actually used Linux or
OS X? I have. In my opinion Vista is just as secure as either. Computer and
network security is a big part of my business. I sell, install, and manage
Linux servers as well as Windows desktops and servers. I manage networks
with Windows, Linux, and OS X users. I know how security works. It's quite
obvious you don't. For some reason you don't like Vista. That's your
prerogative. Constantly attacking anyone who even hints that it may not be
all that bad makes you look very foolish. If you want to be taken seriously
then start using some logic in your arguments instead of name calling.

"jim kirk" is a known Microsoft basher and should be considered irrelevant.
There are always those that would disparage anything that they don't use or
like -- it's a maturity thing. Unfortunately, those like him will always be
there to pester, incessantly.

Re: Vista is a secure OS... YEAH RIGHT~~!
I bash: vista, office2007, wmp11 and ie7

wmp11 and ie7 are part of vista so they dont count...

and I am taking back my bashing of office2007.. do that doesnt count either.

Other than that I love microsoft! If it was not for them we would be far
behind.....

It is my love for microsoft that makes me such a vista basher (but not
hater!)

Because I KNOW they could do better far better!
