Why does default printer change to Microsoft XPS
Been wondering why my default printer Brother MFC-3240C printer changes to
Microsoft XPS Document writer in the printers section of the control
panel.Been using Vista Rc 1 and at times my printer changes to make Microsoft
XPS writer my default printer.Anyone have this problem?I only have one
printer hooked up to this and it should stay that way.I dont even know what
the Microsoft XPS writer is.
Should I delete this Microsoft writer in the printers section?

Re: Why does default printer change to Microsoft XPS
I don't know why unless the driver is not properly installed. I would remove
the Brother printer and add it back again. XPS is a Printing Engine which is
in someways similar to Adobe's Acrobat reader, but utilizes the Internet
Explorer browser to view content created from applications with it.

Some info on XPS:
XPS is Windows Vista's native print format. That is to say, everything
that gets sent to a print spooler will be stored as XPS. This replaces
Windows' extremely old and rickety print functionality based on GDI and
a lot of print-driver voodoo. Basically, anything you build visually in
WGF (e.g. XAML) will automatically be in a format ready for print.
