OT: Anybody know if Adobe really is planning 64-bit flash?

Hi all,

I use the 64-bit IE7 in Vista RTM almost exclusively, as it's so much
more responsive than the 32-bit client. Flash doesn't work in 64-bit
though. For most websites this is fine, as they are just using flash
for additional content, but some sites are unusable without flash so I
have to switch to the 32-bit browser.

Adobe is "working on..." a 64-bit solution. However they didn't seem
interested when XP64 came out, so will they be any more interested
when Vista x64 is formally released? Has anyone any more info than is
posted on the Adobe site?

It's different now. XP 64-bit was a completely seperate product from 32-bit
XP. Vista 64-bit is bundled with 32-bit so the license is one and the same.
Plus most PCs have processors that support 64-bit OS's, which wasn't true up
until about half a year ago.

Thanks Jon. I really hope Adobe make Flash 64-bit available. They
undoubtedly have more clout than Macromedia did, so hopefully they
will make the move.
