Re: sp 1 not installing

Hi Debbie
Does your laptop have the microsoft certificate with the install key?
This should be located on the underside.
If so, you should be able to use any vista install dvd, Should you want
to try a repair, the architecture (32 or 64 bit) must be the same as
you have installed.
You can then perhaps borrow a dvd from a friend to use to make the
slipstream dvd to use with your key to reinstall vista

Re: sp 1 not installing
James the tech support wanted me to try something and I told her I couldn't
because I didn't have the install DVd and that's when she said they would
send me one.

Yes I have that certificate on the bottom and I didn't know I could use a
borrowed DVD. Now what do you mean by slipstream? I imagine I can't just
"copy" their DVd? There's a certain way to do that?

Re: sp 1 not installing

A point to note, in step six you must choose the VISTA basic option
