Downgrading to XP from Vista
A friend of mine bought a Toshiba laptop with Vista pre-installed. So now his
HP printer will never work with Vista and after other problems, I've come to
the conclusion that downgrading to XP might be the best option. However I
don't think Toshiba have XP drivers for that particular model of laptop - is
this going to be a problem?

He has a non-OEM version of XP and an OEM version of XP for a slightly older
Toshiba laptop

Any suggestions?

thanks

Re: Downgrading to XP from Vista
If Toshiba doesn't have XP drivers, downgrading will be a challenge.
So the answer is yes, that is going to be a problem.

Tell your friend to be sure to have Vista recovery DVDs before he
commences to be resourceful and determined to downgrade to XP.

He probably won't be able to use the OEM version except for the slightly
older laptop it came with.

Re: Downgrading to XP from Vista
Without knowing what "other problems" there might be, it seems like
addressing the printer issue may be easier/better than doing a downgrade to
XP. What model printer is it and what sorts of problems is he having?
Depending on his needs, a new printer may be cheaper than XP.
