I assume you are talking to me, try and quote the post you are replying to.
If that is an image of something I can't see it.
I use a newsreader to read newsgroups, not some web forum.
I will not sign up just to see an image.
Suggest you get a newsreader and not use the web forum.

Dave-UK, the image just shows what I describe. So far as I know, there
are a bunch of people who have this unusual problem but nobody has a
solution. Thanks for your help so far. I appreciate it.

Re: downloaded files disappear...actually never appear
Just thought I'd test some sort of process influence- Booted into SAFE
MODE (w/Networking). Guess what, SAME PROBLEM, no change in both IE7 and
Firefox!!!!
Can anyone offer any help on this problem? I would rather have the
community assist than have to go through the Microsoft Assistance
scenario.

Re: downloaded files disappear...actually never appear
Update. I watched a download destianation location very closely and
noticed that the file is actually written to the drive and then
subsequently deleted immediately. I performed this using a very slow USB
drive and watched the activity light and saw the file name appear and
then dissappear.
Does this help anyone diagnose this problem?
Thanks in advance for your help!

settings to default?

Re: downloaded files disappear...actually never appear
Format & Reinstall should fix it.... Since it was a new computer w/built
in recovery partition, the factory state reinstall should solve the
problem faster! Now if it happens again.....

Re: downloaded files disappear...actually never appear
You don't have to - like most BB's vistax4 allows guests - I'd rather go
there that some file download site

Re: downloaded files disappear...actually never appear
have you reinstalled, if so could you let us know what happened
reading through your posts it seems to be a file system issue rather than an
'net issue, the files do download but they disappear as soon as they've
finished, yet you can copy files - that's how you got Firefox onto the
system.
Have you looked through the processes & services that are running on your
system, and are they all kosher
I would not be hard to write something that monitored downloads and deleted
files as soon as they've finished, even I could do that. The fact the
problems persists under Safe mode makes me feel this is a malware problem,
packaged as a driver (not sure I could do that)
BTW what did you use to scribble on those images at vistax64 - I use .Bug
Shooting which allows me to type stuff and draw shapes, but hand written has
a lot more impact.

It doesn't allow guests, you idiot! Look at how MANY of those "guests"
there are!! Did you see an opportunity to be a "guest" when you signed up?
All those GUESTS' posts that have been scrunged from Microsoft servers.
That wretched forum then mingles those posts in with posts like yours -
making the place look 1000 times busier than it is.
I'm showing as "guest" and I'm posting to the Microsoft servers using Forte
Agent, a news reader.

WHUPS... replied to you as if you were posting from Vista Forums.
Sorry.
What I said still stands. And yes, to view that image one needs to NOT be
a guest.
