automatically switching power plans
Is there anyway to set up Vista to automatically switch from the balanced or
high performance power plan to battery saver when I change from AC to
battery operation on my laptop?
The only thing that I can find to do would be to redefine the high or
balanced plan definitions with battery saver settings, but that would mean I
wouldn't have the capability to getting a little more oomph in the system if
I needed it while I was on battery.
As it is, if I'm running balanced on AC, I have to remember to change the
power plan to battery saver manually when I unplug and run the machine on
battery.
Because I can't find anything on this subject by googling, I'm sure it can
be done. If it can't, there would by some really sarcastic comments in the
forums on the problem.
In case I haven't described the question correctly, here's what I want to
do: Using the three predefined power plans in Vista (high performance,
balanced, battery saver), I want my laptop to automatically switch from high
performance or balanced to battery saver when I pull the AC cord.
