Best external multimedia hard drive/ enclosure

Folks,

There isn't a large abundance of reviews about network media streaming
devices, but for less than £200 ($400) the Netgear EVA-8000 seems to
lead the pack based purely on number of positve reviews.

There seems to be even less reviews about multimedia hard drives or
enclosures....odd since there are about 10 times more of these on the
market that streaming devices.

Because they're cheaper, and do not offer the possibility of a dropped
connection, the multimedia HD might be the way to go. Does anyone
have any personal experience with one? Sumvision and Iomega make some
that look good on paper, but again, are not well reviewed.

I have a collection of AVI, xVID, and Divx movies I'd like to see on
the television through a scart lead.
