Windows Vista Home Premium Installation
Hi everybody, I have purchased a full version of Vista Home Premium and
installed it on my computer with no problems. I have also purchased an ASUS
laptop also with Vista Home Premium pre installed on it. Both computers
thefore have a sticker of Windows Authenticity on them. The laptop didn't
come with the Vista disc , so if I wanted to format the harddrive, can I use
the same Full Version disc that I have , to re-install Vista after the
format. Another words, Can I install Vista from 1 disc to 2 computers with 2
different stickers of Authenticity ? Thanks all for your help. Blackcrow10

Re: Windows Vista Home Premium Installation
I assume that what you bought is a retail version of WVT, whereas the
WVT which came preinstalled in the laptop pc is an OEM version.
Therefor, the CD Key shown on the sticker on the bottom side of the
laptop will not work if you attempt to install WVT using the retail version.
You can restore the original condition of the laptop pc by using the
recovery disc which comes with the laptop pc.

One cannot use an OEM product key with a retail Windows Vista installation DVD.

Re: Windows Vista Home Premium Installation
The full version I have "is" an O.E.M version. On the sticker of authenticity
AND in the Control panel > System > Product Id : They both list them as
O.E.M and I bought it as such. Thanks for your response.
