Error 6 Handle invalid

Error 6 handle invalid message when trying dial up connection.
Already tried:
Uninstall / re-boot reinstall modem drivers
Modem tested fine
re-entered password and dial up numbers
Dial up account worked fine for a year on the PC
Dial up account works fine on my MAC
