Extended Tiles in Exlorer

Some of my folders in Explorer offer "Extended Tiles" option and some don't
offer this option. I think I observed it on my external NTFS drive only,
but I am not sure. It irritates me that I can't pick an option myself. I
want just Tiles in some cases and in some cases I want "Extended Tiles", yet
windows picks option for me without consulting me.

Frankly, I've been wondering about the phenomenon of the View choice of
"Extended Tiles" myself. The choice (versus just "Tiles", which is no
longer listed) seems to happen arbitrarily, even in normal folders I have
created myself. If the View "Extended Tiles" is chosen, the tiles seem
visually truncated (despite it's name). This seems to be a bug.
