not able to Right Click ->Close, or minimize Internet Explorer windows
Re: not able to Right Click ->Close, or minimize Internet Explorer windows
On the Close issue, if you are using tabbed browsing & have more than one
tab open, a confirmation message ("Do you want to close all tabs") will
inhibit closing until it is dismissed.
In the Internet Options dialog, on the 'General' tab, you can click the
'Settings' button in the 'Tabs' section and clear the checkbox labeled "Warn
me when closing multiple tabs"

Re: not able to Right Click ->Close, or minimize Internet Explorer windows
Thanks Keith! for the very quick reply!
No, the issue with not with the tabbed browsing.
Nothing happens when I click on Right Click->Close
Or just click on the task bar IE button to minimize the window.
This does not happen always. Just frequently that it has become irritating.
On a side note: What is Windows Shell?

Any suggestions to this one?
I have not faced this issue since I have shared it on this group!
I am just afraid that it might come back and I would feel irritated

Re: not able to Right Click ->Close, or minimize Internet Explorer windows
hello all,
does anybody have any suggestions on this one?
i have exactly the same problem.
I have Vista Ultimate 32 bit, IE 7.0.6001.18000
on Lenovo x61 tablet pc
right now i think i always have this problem, not just sometimes.
and only for IE (can't right click on taskbar icon to close or
minimize).
it will just play a alert Ding sound and do nothing else.
Re: not able to Right Click ->Close, or minimize Internet Explorer windows
i also have the same problem, though i don't use IE, i still want to
know why this is happening. Every time you want to close the application
using the right click on the taskbar, it would respond with a "ding"
indicating that it couldn't complete the task. what could possibly be
related to this problem?
I'm running vista home basic 32-bit on my tx2500 tablet pc
Re: not able to Right Click ->Close, or minimize Internet Explorer windows
WORKAROUND:
I've figured out that if you minimize the window first, you can then
right-click close the window. If you have tabs open, you'll still be
prompted as expected, but at least you can right-click close the
window.
If you've already got your mouse at the taskbar, just left click it
first to minimize, then right-click....
