If I understand the functionality that you want for Windows Explorer, the
"bread crum bar" essentially does the same thing --although you may be more
comfortable with tabs. I can't imagine 3rd party not doing this. There
will be a ton of mods to Vista Windows Explorer and some will be free. There
always are.

your suggestion to the horsie's mouth who designs Windows Explorer, you can
