Annoying indicators of when Shift, Ctrl, & Alt are pushed.
Please help me. This just randomly started happening last night. I can't
find where to turn off this feature. It's placing these idicators on the
screen any time that I push Shift, Ctrl, &/or Alt. In case you don't
understand what I'm talking about, I attached a cropped print screen.
I have a MS Multimedia keyboard with only default drivers, and a Wacom
tablet. I don't know exactly what would cause this, but I thought maybe it
was the Pen Input panel, so I closed it. I checked the keyboard settings
from Control Panel, and there's nothing about this there.
I still have the problem, and it's really annoying. Anyone have an idea?

RE: Annoying indicators of when Shift, Ctrl, & Alt are pushed.
Simon,
I think it is because of the Tablet PC support in Vista, which is enabled
when a Wacom tablet is attached and Pen mode is enabled.
If you move mouse cursor using Wacom pen and press Ctrl, Alt, Shift keys,
you sees the tooltip. (If you move mouse cursor via a mouse, and press the
keys, you should not see the tooltip.)
One way to disable it is to go to the "Wacom Tablet Properties" control
panel applet, select the "Mapping" tab, and select the "Mouse" mode. However,
this will also disable the tablet PC supports (e.g. pen flick, tablet input
panel tip appears next to textbox etc).

Re: Annoying indicators of when Shift, Ctrl, & Alt are pushed.
Oh, I see! I guess that I hadn't noticed it before. I think that it was
still not working as it was meant to, because it was doing it whether or not
the pen was in use. It worked itself out, and now I see what you're saying,
that it's a function, and that it was just happening at all times. I'm glad
it's working right, now. Thanks for the reply!
