Just a note regarding the use of Windows Vista in our computer club's
classrooms and labs. Consider our club can only draw from a community of age
55+. The classroom now consists of 18 computers running Windows Vista (some
Business, some Home Premium, and the rest Ultimate). 6 are Macs with dual
boot in both the Mac OS and Windows Vista Home Premium. Our lab now houses
an additional 12 computers with one Windows 98, one ME and the remaining
Windows XP.
All are networked, with cable access to the internet. Three network
printers. Instructor and room monitor complaints have dropped from an
average of 16 per month prior to Vista to today's average of 4 per month
(over the past 4 months).
Real usage by old 'dogs' says a lot more than the few nay-sayers.
Personally my own Windows Vista Premium machine has not hickupped once in
the 14 months. My spouses' Win XP Pro has a belly ache once a month...
