UAaaaaaaaKkkk = The sound you make after you press UAC for a trillionth time

ReadyBoSD = A feature that 90% of the time does not work with your USB flash
drive. It will most likely give you a blue screen of death (BSoD)

SpeedBloat = A deceptive feature claiming to make your computer faster.. in
reality it is bloat that fills your ram up with crap.

Vista AIR-Ohh = Why AIR- Ohh? Well your graphic card will need an extra air
fan blower to keep it from melting.

Flop 3D = This feature is useless, a flop

Search In ducks = Some claim search indexing is a good thing. If you want to
hear your drive squawking like a duck 24/7 leave this on.

Windows Deaf-ender = leave this on a scheduled scan and with the continues
rattling of your drive you will make you deaf

Internet Exploiter 7 = Surf the internet and get all kinds of bonus exploits
installed on your PC.

Windows Media Plonker 11 = The ugly player that needs a zillion separate
codec's to play media... in other words it plonks your vids.

it's a work in progress. it is a step forward even though it has alot of
irritating things about it. the next OS should be better. hopefully it won't
take microsoft another 6 years to release an improvement over vista.

Once again how do you expect anyone to take any points you make seriously if
you actually have no point?

UAC = After you get all of your programs setup you don't see it that often,
unless a program is requesting admin rights, which in all honesty, should
not be needed.

ReadyBoost actually does work, also I'd like to see where you got your 90%
statistic. I've never had a BSoD from ReadyBoost on any systems (even
during the beta) and I have 4 machines in this house alone.

Super PreFetch also has no issues either. Also what do you mean it fills
your RAM up with crap? It preloads code from your most commonly used
applications so that they are already partially memory resident. Also note
that it doesn't force that memory to remain static, it can release that code
if that more memory is needed for a present task.

Aero is not even close to that needy on resources. My 2 year old laptop
runs Aero just fine (yes even with glass) and that's on Power Save mode with
it on battery. It was also a midrange laptop when I bought it. I paid less
than 1500 for it, a router, a printer, and an extended warranty. (oh yes and
I should mention that it runs very cool temp wise as well)

Flip3D is actually fairly useful when it comes to wanting to switch to
another window if you have multiple instances of the same application open.
Although I realize that by this point you're running out of steam for what
to say since you're level of creativity is waning.

Search Index does not leave your drive making noise 24/7. There's some
common misconceptions here. Search Index runs when you first get Windows
running and indexes all of the files presently in your user areas. You can
change that to include more areas which means that yes it will run more
often (however not by default). Once it builds that initial index then it
only indexes new files as they are added. Now what you may be hearing using
that HD from time to time is the background defragmenter. It runs on it's
own when needed to keep the system nice and clean.

Windows Defender. Same thing, it only runs when scheduled, but it does have
an active component that does check files coming in for malware, however
that's resident in memory and doesn't require extra HD cycles.

Internet Explorer 7 on Vista is actually much more secure than all of their
previous browsers (including IE7 for WindowsXP). The only time you can run
into major security issues with it is when you turn off UAC, that turns off
some of the key protection technologies built into the browser.

Windows Media Player is exactly the same as any other media player
codec-wise. Any player has to have the proper codec to playback files.
That's like saying Linux doesn't require a special codec algorithm to be
able to handle zip files. It does, it just usually comes as part of the
package (just like it does with windows these days). Anything that is
compressed needs something to decompress it. Hence the term
CODEC-COmpress/DECompress


So try to please comeback with an intelligent reply to these points, if
you're capable.

actually it was only 5 years since xp was released that vista got released
and i like vista it is very well thought out and every feature in it has a
useful purpose it's not just for a decoration that it has the glass effect.
microsoft is on the right track.
