What is a good Anti Virus program.
I tried AVS and they responded with this:
We are sorry, but Active Virus Shield (AVS) is not supported on Vista. A
future release of AVS might be available for Vista.

Thank you for your interest in our products.

Regards,
AOL Support Team

Then I tried One Care from the company that built Vista. And I get an error
saying I need Windows XP Sp2. Hmmmm.

Not that it's the greatest AntiSpyware, but know that Windows Defender is
enabled in Vista by default. Besides that, I use ClaimWin AntiVirus in
Vista. It's a Windows port of the most popular Linux AntiVirus. Can't say
how great it is though, have been lucky enough not to have any virus
troubles in the past year.

I am using McAfee Enterprise 8.5 and it seems to be running well.

Re: What is a good Anti Virus program.
I have the Vista beta version of OneCare beta 1.5 and while it works I don't
particularily like it as it's more than AV, it's backup, a firewall and a
defragger as well.

I have used AVG free edition which worked and then didn't and then did again
on Vista. I prefer it to AVAST, though my experience with AVG is that it is
great at finding viruses, but not so great at removing them. Avast for me
finds lots of false positives and One Care Live seems to be aimed at less
competent PC users and seems basic.

Re: What is a good Anti Virus program.
Well I'll give AVAST a shot. I have Mcaffe enterpirse 8.5 but it seems like a
memory hog. The processes are using 31 meg of my precious RAM right now.

Hopefully AVAST uses less memory. I don't see why an Antivirus would use so
much memory when just typing a post. I would think it would only kick in
during a scan or some File IO.

OneCare 1.5

I have not had any issues with it since I started using it.
