I see Windows Sound Schemes, and DreamScene Content Pack #3 now available.
Also the Windows Vista Ultimate Language Packs are back after the SP1
upgrade.

Yes they are. They downloaded yesterday.

They might be "extras" but they just don't feel very "ultimate" to me.

You know, if I actually used Vista, if I'd actually paid for my copy of
Vista "Ultimate", I'd be feeling rather short-changed at the moment.

purpose of getting "extras".

I have to admit the three dream scene updates aren't worth getting all that
excited about. Language packs are fine if you use them, but most people
don't - me included.

As a paying "Ultimate" customer, I just want Vista's file search for strings
to work and Microsoft WILL NOT LISTEN about its failures.

It's truly incredible how little Microsoft is willing to listen about a
failure in a NEW product. They don't care. They won't investigate. They
cannot reproduce the problem I've reported so it's not a problem. They
refuse to run diagnostics to learn why search fails on my machine, and don't
care if others are also affected. Since everyone is not reporting the
problem, it's not a problem.

PLEASE GIVE ME XP BACK -- Oh, unless I'm a gigantic corporation, I don't
have rights to downgrade back to XP and be productive unless I pay them even
more to downgrade from a flawed product. What kind of customer support is
that? Microsoft just wants more money even when their product doesn't work,
and SP1 failed to fix the problem. I guess my E-mail address has been put
on a spam or black list at Microsoft -- they refuse to answer E-mails from
me now even when I've been fairly specific about a search failure mode.

Give me a Vista "Ultimate" extra that would be useful: Windows Explorer for
Windows 2000 -- I can search and find files with that, and it always works.
A step back would be better than what they're pushing on customers now.

However, if you purchased Vista Ultimate, part of your purchase price, part
of the features you paid for, are the Ultimate Extras. Notice I said Extras,
not "extras" like you did - these features are a real and distinctive part
of the product, advertised by Microsoft as one of the reasons a customer
might choose Ultimate over any other edition.

Let me put it in simple terms:
You order a McBurger Value meal. You don't get a drink because they forgot
to put one in there. Now you probably ordered the McBurger Value meal for
the quality of the meat in the burger, but despite that you paid for a drink
as part of the deal. Happy that you didn't get it? Don't like drinks? What
if you got that with the burger but no fries? You paid for the whole
package, you're entititled to ask where the rest of the meal is, don't you
think?

I agree. However, another reason to refuse to give your business to
fast food franchises (and many other businesses) is the manner in which they
treat their employees. The companies work them part-time so they do not
qualify for unemployment benefits, pensions or insurance. The employees do
not make enough money to enable them to be homeowners and therefore
government agencies must subsidize their housing costs. Joe taxpayer must
repay the governments via taxes. The local, state and federal governments
must support their healthcare and the healthcare of their infants so the
taxpayer ends up footing these expenses also.
The company executives and shareholders reap all the profits and
benefits while the blue collar worker pays out the arse in taxes. Only in
America.
OK. I'm ready for all the replies from the conservative, right-wing
respondents. Let me have it.
