Accessing Documents and Settings folder

Is there any way to do this? I need to copy my Firefox profile from my
old XP setup into the Vista Documents and Settings folder but when I
try to open the folder in Vista I get an "Access is denied" error
message.

In Vista your profile is no longer stored under Documents and Settings.
Rather it is stored under Users. Open the Users folder in the root of your
boot drive and you should see a directory in there with your user name on it
and open that.

I guess for technical accuracy, it's not on the root of the boot drive but
rather the root of the system drive. For the majority this will be the
same, but for those who customize their systems these might be different.

One useful thing to do when you use a dual boot is to make a shortcut from
your Vista desktop to your XP desktop and then you can access all your XP
folders, although with some folders and UAC, you may have to take ownership
of certain folders.

Your Vista profile is going to be whatever drive\users\profile name\ and
your XP drive will be whatever drive\documents and settings\profile
name\desktop

You can then drag the folder icon from the xp desktop to your vista desktop
and save a lot of time and space because you won't have to copy
files/folders from XP unless you elect to for convenience.
