Add\restore Select All to right click menu

Is there a way to add\restore Select All to the right click menu?

When right clicking inside an open folder there is no choice for Select All.
This is the case inside any open folder. As this was my first time to
attempt to use the Select All, I can not say if there ever was a Select All
in the right click menu. Right click Select All works in all installed
programs. I know in open folders I can use the edit menu to select all or
click the first item and scroll to the last item and hold down the shift key
to select all.
