Permissions not related to UAC
I'm trying to uninstall Office XP and keep hitting snags. It starts and then
stops and says that a certain file does not have appropriate permission.
Then I have to go find the file, right click, click on Security and either
set myself up as owner or give myself permission. Then I go back and try
again to uninstall and then it hangs on another file and I start all over
again.

My question is, is there a way to set permissions for all parent folders and
sub-folders and files at one time without having to do each file
individually? If there isn't, Vista is going in the garbage can. I'm the
only user on a home computer and should have to jump through hoops just to
uninstall a program.

Any help will be enormously appreciated.

Re: Permissions not related to UAC
Go to the top of the tree for the program and set the permission for the
folder. This will include all files and subfolders

Re: Permissions not related to UAC
Thanks Bob, I took some doing, but finally got it to do what I wanted it to
do. I just wish there was a step-by-step process.

Re: Permissions not related to UAC
Well, it didn't really do what I wanted it to do. Does anyone know if there
is a simple step by step process to accomplish this? I set myself up with
full permission on the parent folder, but it didn't do anything on all the
sub-folders. Anyone have a step by step?
