Click the start orb, type:
devmgmt.msc
Open the Properties of the Ethernet card, and us the Action menu to
'uninstall'
(be sure the 'delete drive' checkbox in UNchecked)
, then action menu, 'scan for hardware changes.' Restart and try it.
