Problem with Norton 360
Hi,
I am using windows vista ultimate edition, and I tried to install Norton 360
which compatable with vista but I am getting this error messag:
Symantec Download Manager
Thank you for choosing Symantec.
Your Product : Norton 360
Your Product Key : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
During installation, you will have the
opportunity to save your Product Key
in your Norton Account
Could not write to the disk
I had contact Norton, but it seems they are not able to help.
Any one have any idea to solve this problem.. Appreciate your guidance.

Re: Problem with Norton 360
I know you probably don't want to hear this, but call Symantec and try to
get your money back. Norton is bloated, problematic, slows down your
system, and is terrible. Go look at AVG Free or Avast for your system.
They have smaller footprints and are free. AVG also has an anti-spyware
program that is good, but it costs money. You will be happier in the long
run.

Re: Problem with Norton 360
So are you saying that your installation didn't complete and Norton 360
isn't running or running improperly. Or is just a problem with saving your
product key? Did you run it as administrator?

Re: Problem with Norton 360
I don't know about Norton being bloated, problematic, slowing dowm my system
or being terrible. I installed Norton 360 with no problems and haven't seen
anything that would cause me to think any of those things. I did have
problems with both NAV and NIS under Vista, but I was able to return those
with a full refund.

If Symantec can't support their own products, switch to another that will.

Everything they wrote is true.

Re: Problem with Norton 360
The best thing to do with 'any' norton software is dump it in the bin. Once
upon a time Norton software used to be good. Now it causes more problems
than it cures.
I certainly wouldn't use it.

I agree. It's become bloatware. It slows down your computer, it is
nearly impossible to uninstall it completely, and...when you need help,
you get idiots on the phone or in email who can do nothing more than
direct you to long, cumbersome instruction pages on the internet that do
not fix the problems.

Re: Problem with Norton 360
Try downloading to SAVE rather than RUN from the Norton website.
Then right mouse click on the installation file and Run as
Administrator.
If that does not work you may have to get the Norton Removal Tool, run
that and then start again.
If you have any other AntiVirus program, turn that off while installing
Norton 360.
