Mad Max,
I don't know why you should be having this problem. Did you uninstall
the previous version in the proper manner? See the link below:
http://www.amd-firefly.com/firefly20...eflyclient.jsp
Have you tried disabling your antivirus and antispyware applications
before the install? Have you tried disabling your firewall prior to the
install? It shouldn't really matter, but you could try anyway.
If these steps don't work you could try downloading and installing the
..Net Framework 2.0 even though it is already imbedded in your system. It may
work, but then again, it may not. The worst that could happen is that it
won't install or you will get a message stating that it does not apply to
your system. The link is provided below:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
If this doesn't work you could always search your registry for any
remnants of the previous version that may be hindering the install and then
remove them but you must be very careful editing the registry. Create a
restore point before editing the registry. I have found that many drivers
for different software will not install as long as there are previous
remnants in the registry. This should not happen, but it does.
Again, regardless of the approach you take you should make a restore
point before doing anything. Speaking of restore points have you tried to
restore your system to a point prior to the uninstall of your previous CCC
software? This should at least allow you to again use your current version
until you determine what your installation problem was.
If you don't have any luck you can always make a free call to ATI
support concerning your issue. See the link below for information:
http://www.amd-firefly.com/firefly20...eflyclient.jsp
Let me know when you determine the nature of the problem so that I'll
know the causative factor in the event I encounter the same problem in the
future.
