Videos Folder
My Videos folder in my user directory is missing the videos folder icon. In
its place, it has a standard folder icon. This happened last night, but I'm
not sure how. Is there any way to restore it back to the videos icon? I've
already tried going to the videos folder properties and going to the
customize tab. Thanks.

The folder has to have the read only attribute set, and have a hidden
desktop.ini file within, with system attribute set.

The desktop.ini file should contain what is between the lines:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell 32.dll,-21791
InfoTip=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-12690
IconResource=%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll,-189
IconFile=%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll
IconIndex=-238
[LocalizedFileNames]
Sample Videos.lnk=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21807
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

ss.

Oh there's a qucker way to remake the shell folder using a command, but
you'd have to serach for that. Try searching for posts by Keith Miller.

Re: Videos Folder
Success! Thanks. I think what happened was I added a song to the videos
folder for creating a Windows Movie Maker Project. Just as a little extra
information, you have to go to the folder options and uncheck the box for
hiding operating system files, and you also have to log off and log back on
at least before you'll see the updates.
