Ok, here's a new 'wrinkle' on this one--I get "COM Surrogate Has Stopped
Working" every time on *bootup.* I haven't intalled DivX. Or Nero. I just
have the standard codecs Vista comes with installed. And there aren't any
thumbnails on my desktop (other posts mentioned video or picture thumbnails
as a potential cause), just standard icons.
I started getting it right after I hooked up a new monitor, a 27-inch Dell
2707FP. I'm not sure why that would cause a COM problem, though.
I'm scratchin' my head on this one. Any help would be tremendously
appreciated.
