Program installations kill internet
I don't know what the problem is but whenever I install a program such as
Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, or pretty much any program, I lose
my internet connection until I uninstall the program and reboot. I have a
3com 3c905c network card. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there
anything I can do to fix this problem?

Re: Program installations kill internet
Just bought a DV6226 HP Laptop with Vista Home Premium. All has been great
with it, except for two things:

1. Yahoo Messenger - if IE is not opened before I start a chat, then Vista
thinks Messenger is trying to open IE...endless Loop....so you just have to
kill IE. Work around is Open IE first. Next version of Messenger will
hopefully address this.

2. When I tried to activite Office 2007 trial my product key could not be
found for some reason....so instead of using the start office trial link on
desktop i just went to Word directly. From a trial window I got a product
key from Microsoft online and entered it there so the 60 days trial could
start.

Overall I've been very impressed with Vista. It does remind me a lot of OS X
which I've used for years, but University of Phoenix plays better with
Windows and I like the option of renting music and not paying for one song
at a time... so I have a Vista machine.

My roomates Dell Inspiron would get kicked from the internet all the
time....using DLINK wireless...installed Panda Antivirus (Windows Live,
Norton and McAfee kept crashing) and Panda found stuff the others didnt...no
more disconnects from the internet. You can tried a free scan with Panda
online to see if there could be a virus or worm on your computer that the
others didn't pick up.

Re: Program installations kill internet
Either messenger knocks out my internet connection as soon as it signs in.
Then I can't use IE7 or anything. I've also tried uTorrent and it does the
same thing. Very strange problem.
