Installed programs not displaying in "All Programs" listing
I'm using Vista Home Premium and installed VueScan for my scanner. The
install created a shortcut on my desktop and allowed me to pin it to the
Start Up menu. But it will not display in the "All Programs" listing. Right
clicking on the Task Bar and checking Properties doesn't appear to provide me
with any solution. I've tried the Classic menu display and no luck as well.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Re: Installed programs not displaying in "All Programs" listing
Maybe a compatibility issue with the software placing shortcuts during
installation in the Programs Groups.

Re: Installed programs not displaying in "All Programs" listing
Thanks for your reply. You may be correct. When I went to delete what I
thought was the shortcut on my desktop, the delete message was not the usual
message that deleting a shortcut would not remove the program. When I went
ahead with the delete anyway, it actually deleted the program file.

You did not delete the shortcut. You deleted the application itself.
The reason the program does not show up in your "All Programs" list is
because you have not installed it. The unzipped application is residing in
one of your folders and is launched from there, either by going to the folder
itself or clicking on the copy on your desktop. If you will notice, I said
"copy" and not "shortcut".
Have a nice day.
