Guys,
I am in the throws of a nervous breakdown, but from reading many of the
posts on here, am hoping that you may have come across this before and
will be able to *save me from slaying myself with a blunt instrument*!
I have a newish Vista PC (4GB, loads of disk etc...) and am running
2007 Office 12 Bus Edition.
Until recently I was ecstatic as the system worked like a dream
(controversial??), however, around the time of the .NET auto update a
few weeks ago, I lost the use of right and left mouse buttons for
"select", "copy" and "past" in Word!
This problem doesnt manifest itself with any other apps I have loaded,
either within office12 or from 3rd parties.
- I use an optical mouse but have tried a cable mouse - same affect
- Ive uninstalled and reinstalled Office12 with a reboot - strange that
one. The new install still had many of the old files in it ... so that
may not have worked, even though it said it had!
- (following someone's advice on here) I checked the Event Viewer and
got this output...
Faulting application WINWORD.EXE, version 12.0.4518.1014, time stamp
0x45428028, faulting module wwlib.dll, version 12.0.4518.1014, time
stamp 0x454285fb, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0005d8b8,
process id 0x1394, application start time 0x01c83a8947c22479.
Now, here is my question ... does anyone have any idea what this
translates to in English, or what I need to do to fix the problem. I
am convinced its got something to do with my challenge as the only
thing I tried to do in Word was get the mouse going.
(Incidentally, I've rebooted my optical mouse (no joy), and the mouse
scroll wheel works great in Word still!)
Appreciate your feedback chaps.
THANKS
