Let me see if I understand you...capin' crunch. You can't figure out how
to use Vista so you hate it, right? IOW's Vista is smarter than you'll
ever hope to be right? Basically, it owns your stupid, ignorant arse,
correct?
Well, you are a known bozo so what's the problem with Vista owning you?
OTOH, I've done at least 30-40 installs of Vista Ultimate over the last
2+ yrs and currently have over 12 seats up and running successfully in
my business.
Now you tell me mr spaced cadet, who would any intelligent person
believe when it comes to questions concerning Vista?
Well....?

That is simply not true.

You have never, nor will you ever, recommend Vista. You don't use it and
you never will. You don't like nor recommend anything MS...you are a
linux troll and not fooling anyone.

Translation: capin' crunch is too stupid to figure out how to
successfully use Vista.
IOW, Vista is smarter than he is!

Yeah, it's a new OS. It is not just an "upgraded or improved" XP.
for example in xp you can easily change

Really? Like what for example?
and if anyone wants to say that im just dumb and

Wonderful! Then you knew going in that Vista is a new OS and that there
is a slight "learning curve", right?
dont get me

Yep! That is correct and has been correct since DOS, right? Not needed,
just wanted, right?
so if your computer is running

Sorry, but that is no longer true. MS has repeatedly stated that SP's
will no long have the dramatic effect that they've had before, like XP
SP1-2. In fact they will simply be a compilation of all previous updates
and fixes.
So waiting is...useless?
remember if its not broken then there is no need to try and fix it.
Exactly, so why did we leave DOS?

I hope you'll stick around for a while, that was the best advice
presented in a concise manner that's been given for a while.
Actually I have one Asus MB that is 6 + years old and with an upgrade to
a faster CPU and an Nvidia AGP card it does rather well with Vista, but
it does have a limit of 1.5GB memory - the upgrade advisor said it would
work but it didn't however I was planning to replace those items anyway.
I totally agree about dual boot, better to fit a slide in mount and swap
the hardware - easy with SATA. Not so good with IDE. With modern MB that
have selectable boot device do it as two completely separate installs
with the other drive disconnected, avoids the boot manager issues that
arise if you let Windows do it.

And see where you end up if that drive fails, you may well end up with
the other OS unbootable and unfixable.

Hehe, yes but you are supposed to take it out that nice plastic case and
install it on a computer, not prop the door open with it
I mean good for you and all that, some do have problems, This to and fro
banter does nothing to help anyone and whichever side the "Mine works
perfectly so it must be you that's stupid" advocate is on actually
alienates people.

Incorrect. Lindows was/is. WindowsME was also horrendous on any system that
wasn't designed for it (but was ok on those that were), as were several of
the early consumer versions of Linux by Redhat and Win3.whogivesa****. By
comparison to those disasters, Vista is a dream. In my overall rankings of
modern era 32-bit OS's, I'd choose (for their respective times) Win98,
WinXP, and Mandrake 9. Vista's not far behind though.
