low battery alarm
Hi

we just got a Toshiba laptop which does not sound an alarm when the battery
is low. It only notifies with a pop up. I need to use the alarm function and
it seems that this particular model does not have this function.

Can you guys point me to a freeware that does such a thing. I was looking at
scripting or coding (writing a program to do so and set it up as a service
or something like that). If it can be done, appreciate if you guys could
give me a few pointers.

Many thanks in advance
Richard

Re: low battery alarm

Go into control panel.
Select Sound.
Select Sounds.
Select Critical Battery Alarm.
The rest is straight forward.

Re: low battery alarm
Richard,

You may find that it is sounding an alarm, the standard is innocuous and
easily overlooked.

Check
Sound
Sounds
Windows/Low Battery Alarm, you could set it to something that cannot be
ignored.

Also check in
Power Options
Change Plan Settings
Change Advanced Power settings
Battery area / Low battery notification

to make sure it is turned on there.

Re: low battery alarm
Hi Michael and Roy

Thanks for your reply. I have set all the confugurations but still no sound.
I even sent it to Toshiba. They are the ones who told me that this particular
model does not sound an alarm.
