Can you boot into Safe Mode? Try that and run a system scan with your
Antivirus utility. Also check the Event Viewer for any logged error
messages.
If that does not work, try repairing your system. Boot from your Windows
Vista DVD, select the System Repair Option > on the setup screen, select
'Repair Computer > Select your installation of Windows > select Startup
Repair option and follow instructions.
Which brand/model laptop is this? Is it still under warranty? If so, you
might want to contact the manufacturer about this issue.
