Recent Items list question please
Vista Home Premium

Many recently opened or new items do not appear on my Recent Items list when
choosing that from the start menu. I understand that this is normal and
Vista is very quirky as far as what is on this list and what isn't. Is
there any way that I can manually edit this list to selectively add things I
want there and remove those that I don't?

Thanks in advance... Bob

RE: Recent Items list question please
Hi Bob,

You could pin the applications you wish to have displayed consistently on
the Start menu and then disable the Most Frequently Used Programs list that
is displayed.

To do this, locate each application shortcut in your All Programs list that
you want to be displayed on the Start menu. Right click on each icon
respectively and click on "Pin to Start Menu". You should now have a list of
the applications you selected displayed on your Start menu.

Once you have completed this, right click on your Start button and click on
Properties. Under Privacy, uncheck "Store and display a list of recently
opened programs", and then click on OK.

Take a look at your Start menu - you should now have a list of the
applications you want on your Start menu without other applications being
added to the list unless you add them yourself.

Hope this helps, have a great day,

Re: Recent Items list question please
What decides whether or not a file is listed there?
