Moving User Folders Corrupts Desktop, Favorites, Contacts and Documents Folders
I wanted to move my user folder over to a larger volume in order to not overrun the system drive and other User profiles. Unfotunately, I moved them using their Properties -> Location Tab -> Move Button. Now I have multiple instances of the target volume (6 of them) in windows explorer with none of the orginal folders and more importantly their data I wanted to move . I'm wondering if I should just to System Restore back to the orginal settings when Vista was first installed losing all of my programs and data. Or are there ways to fix this through the registry?

Hi Fletch,

When you right click on them and click Properties -> Location tab, you
can try to see if the "Restore Defaults" button will fix it for you. If
not, then type in the original default full path for the folder in that
line and click "OK" instead of "Move".

The default full path will be:
"C:\Users\(your username)\(folder name)" (no quotes)

Hope this helps you,
Shawn
