Virtual Earth 3d wont install

Can't install latest version of Virtual Earth 3d on Vista Ultimate x86. I've
uninstalled all previous version, and tried everything that I can think of
(run as admin, in compatibility mode etc) but I keep getting a 'Virtual
Earth 3d Installer has stopped working' windows error.
Anybody got any ideas that I could try?

Have you cleaned out your temporary files, deleted the Program Files folder
for the previous installation of Virtual Earth 3D then install the current
version? Try deleting the %appdata%\Microsoft\Virtual Earth 3D
