email link in IE7 on vista

Hi, since the live update the other night, when I click on an email link in
IE7 it says the email client (or something along those lines) is not
installed properly. I'm on vista (the next one up from basic) and its now
windows mail not OE. I have checked that both programmes are set as default.
Links to IE from email work fine, just not the other way round. Would love
some help on this please :-)

What do you mean by "both programs are set as default links to IE7"?
