mscomctl.ocx not registered error in Vista Home Basic

I have had GPS Trackmaker working under Vista but had a PC meltdown
so
have had to re-install from scratch. I can no longer get GPS
Trackmaker working - the error mscomctl.ocx is not registered or
installed comes up. I cannot now remember how I got it working in
Vista.

I have the file mentioned and registered it with regsvr32
mscomctl.ocx
and I still get the same error.


Any help is appreciated,

Install and activate the ActiveX installer service.

It's Vista Home Basic I am using.

I solved the problem on Vista Home Basic by installing this exe file.
It seems to put in the files which are missing for GPS Trackmaker to
work.

Hope this may help someone else out having a similar problem.
