RE: error with windows update
I had spent a total of 9 hours on the phone, between Dell and Microsoft and
mine is finally fixed. They did a lot to my computer, downloaded some windows
updates, re-installed my operating systems, ingraded it? which pretty much
puts a whole new operating system on your computer and all that still didn't
work but it did fix some other problems I was having lol. Finally, there was
this one window update that was installed on my computer that shouldn't have
been that when removed I was able to install the Windows Vista Service Pack
1. This window update that was installed and then removed is titled: Update
for Windows Vista (KB929777). If you have this update in your update history,
try unistalling it and then see if that fixes your problem.
Installation date: ‎6/‎17/‎2008 12:29 AM
Installation status: Failed
Error details: Code 8000FFFF
Update type: Recommended
Install this update to address an issue in storport.sys which results in a
system crash when certain hardware configurations exist. After you install
this item, you may have to restart your computer.
