There are too many people not having an issue to blame is solely on UAC
at this point.

I've recently installed True Image 10 and have done a backup of my Vista
32-bit system. If the time comes for me to restore my system from the
backup, are you telling me that I need the OS disk? My HP system has a
partition for restore, it didn't come with an OS disk or restore disks. How
is a restoration performed without an OS disk using version 10?

JJ, have you made the True Image Emergency Recovery Disk and tried booting
from that? While I agree, all functions should work within Vista,
personally, I always boot from the emergency disk and perform all tasks
independent of the OS in order to prevent any OS function or background
function of the OS or any other application from possibly interfering.

I make this recommendation not as a defense but as an option for you to try
in order to be able to work with the application. If that gets it going for
you, at least it won't be useless to you. Note: any validation should be
done from there as well and not from within the OS as that was giving you
problems.

And I second that, I think you should set it going then leave it
completely alone

I had the same problem with this product.
Backups went fine and the verify done during the backup went fine as
well.
When I would go to restore, I would get the corrupt message.

It turned out that for some reason the program did NOT like the drives on
my VIA64 chipset RAID controller on my Asus motherboard even though I was
running the drives in standard IDE mode, not RAID.
I was using these drives to STORE the back up of my primary C drive which
was on the standard IDE controller.
All I had to do was copy the archive to a drive on the standard IDE
controller and it worked fine.

Other than that weird one, I have been very happy with the Acronis
product.
This is under Windows XP so I can't say for Vista because I don't use
Vista.
