Music folder? Pictures folder?
I've been reading many of the posts regarding Vista's default folder views
and icon troubles and I've not seen one that quite addresses my problem. Out
of the box (new laptop), I fiddled with these folders like any veteran XP
user, much to my dismay. What I've wound up with is this: There is an icon
on my wife's desktop called Wife. (I'm assuming, like a moron, that this
equals XP's My Documents folder). If I open it, it displays everything in
C:\User\Wife. However, it includes two folders called Music. Both contain
exactly the same thing (inclucing 14GB worth of iTunes music; I can't afford
that much HDD space). Two things I can't figure out are: 1) if I navigate
through My Computer to C:\Users\Wife, I see only one Music folder. 2) If I
copy or move files or folders to either of these two Music folders, the
dialog shows (for instance): "Copying 217 items from Desktop to
C:\Users\Wife\Pictures". Pictures?! Why does it say Pictures? The bloody
folder is called Music! Oh, and also, after copying said files into either
of the two Music folders, the copied items (of course) show up in both of
them. Because of this, I am afraid to delete one of them for fear I'll lose
her Music folder altogether. What gives?
Many thanx,
Ripper
