For many problems with burning including most commonly the DVD drive not
showing up in Computer, media not showing up when you put it in (in
Computer), Nero or Roxio or other burning software not opening, not burning,
or not closing frequently although there are about 3 other MSKBs for narrow
and rare causes it's the filter values that need to be deleted from the
registry. I've also encountered this as a cause of preventing ripping of a
music CD to WMP or Itunes.
The CD drive or the DVD drive does not work as expected after you upgrade a
computer to Windows Vista
