Col. Tom2--

Costs vary. I'm seeing Windows One Care in stores for $33 but some of them
have rebates and they can be applied to 3 boxes so you can hardly beat that.
The others may run a bit more.

With One Care, I suppose when it's Vista version RTMs, there will be a
downloadable update.

You can find any of these we named with a quick type into a search engine.

Hi Chad:

Thanks to you and all the others for the pertinent info applicable Vista
AV applications. Do you have any idea as to what the cost will be to
"activate" after the Beta time runs out? I especially like your comments
related to it being less CPU etc.

Col. Tom--

I'm not sure what you mean by current Vista version (build) since Vista RTM
at least one edition (Vista Business--although I don't know what kept them
from marketing all of them but the DVD will make change available later if
it's wanted) is on store shelves on 11/30/06 in the US at Comp USA but you
have a wide range of choices to choose from.

I only mention the build, because with one of the builds (and I can't even
remember which now, many of us could not load AVAST which was popular
because it began working early on in the Betas and working well. But it
wasn't near the current one, whatever that means to you.

I'm on RTM. I like One Care 1.5 in public Beta, which works on Vista just
fine and should work on whtever build--I've used it on several Beta builds
previously, and RTM. I like it because it takes up less real estate and
less CPU than Norton's and is less erratic.

It updates defs daily seemlessly in the background. Other AV's I've used
with Vista are AVAST, AVG, and Trend and I liked them all. Trend had a nice
clean interface and ran well in the background.

Download WOC 1.5 Beta:

There are free trials and/or free versions of all I mentioned above. I know
Symantec has versions for Vista with trials, and there are a number of
others I did not mention that have been recommended on this group and you
can do a View>find antivirus to read posts on them.

Good luck,

CH

Hi:

Is there am Anti-Virus application that will work with the current Vista
version with no problems or work arounds?
If so, what is considered the best?

Thanks
