Desktop Icons

I removed a game by using the control panel to uninstall it. However, the
icon on my desktop did not disappear. When I try to delete the icon from
the desktop I get a message saying the file can't be found. I am given two
choices, try again or cancel. If I click on either one the icon does not go
away. Same thing happens when I try to drag the icon to the trash (or even
move it to a folder). Any idea how I can remove this thing?
