Can't Start Halo 2- tried installing /reinstalling/uninstalling...

When starting Halo2 it gets as far as putting a light beam over the H in
Halo2 and then it crashes - suggests I reinstall. I've got Crysis,
Bioshock and other DX10 games running fine including COD4, MOHA, Q3, D4 etc.
This is the only game that has failed so far. It says it is going online
to find out a a solution but never comes back

Wait, you didn't post your system specs, driver updates, or even your
system make/model.
