Chess Titans sound problem

Sometimes in chess titans the sound of a move will lag. Then when the
sound resumes it makes a screeching noise. If I close the program it
stops. Sound card, Video card, or Windows?

Vista home premium
Intel Duo Core E4500 2.20 Ghz
Creative SB X-Fi exteme gamer; driver 6.0.1.1283
NVIDIA Geforce 8300 GS; driver 7.15.11.6371
2 GB Ram
