Minesweeper game not responding

I am running Vista Ultimate. When playing Minesweeper in the Advanced Mode
the game typically stops responding after approximately 70% of the mines have
been detected. Message is that Minesweeper executable is not responding. Is
there a fix?

I'm running home premium with exactly the same problem. I also have problems
with IE7 which the help section tells me is something to do with add ons but
doesn't know which one. Maybe they are connected. But I hope someone finds
out soon cos it's driving me mad.

After much seraching found the following school in the UK who told me to
download updated java. Did it and now it works!

I have the same problem. So far I've found one solution: I copied
Minesweeper from Windows XP (System32/winmine.exe). It's less fancy, but
at least working!
