UT3 : Application error on Vista x64

Hello all !

I have a little problem with UT3 on Vista x64. Sometimes i have this
message :

-"UT3.exe - Application error.

unknown software exception (0xc0000005) occurred in the application to
the location 0x0076480b"-
Then, I press OK and the game close. I got this message once hellgate
london too...

My drivers are up to date, windowsupdate = ok and the game is also up
to date. My pc is ok too (memtest = ok, hard drive disk = ok etc.)

Then, is this vista or UT3 ? Any ideas ? Come back on XP and drop Vista
? ...

NB: I'am french, it's possible that my English is not "OK"

My PC :

Asus P5KC
C2D E6750 @ Stock
2 x 1Go DDR2 PC6400
Crossfire HD3870 with Catalyst 8.3
1 x HDD 250Go
Corsair HX520w

I'm not an expert but it sound to me like theres a file missing that the
game needs to run. Does it always happen when you do a certain thing in
the game, like pick up a gun?

If its only that screen that it crashes on your best bet would probably
be to either stay clear of that map or reinstall the game.

I think it is completely random...

On my other games (Test Drive Unlimited, for example) i have no
problem.

I have a friend on 32-bit Vista, which has never had this message on
UT3...

Problem with Vista x64 ? Fix available ?

I don't think so, but it could be. I'm no expert. Did It start after you
patched it or at any other certain time?

Bah... all updates windows update (but not sp1) and install the 8.3
nothing.

I do not see at all ...

I wasn't too far off. The best bet would be to contact UT3 tech support
and see if they could help you. That is, unless someone who's more
knowlageable then me replies.
