Just curious, did you try running the system benchmark in FEAR and FEARXP.
And specicfically run it two or 3 times in a row ? I'm getting some odd
behavior with FEAR and EP (that I don't get under XP:SP2). When I run the
benchmarks, I may get a 150 fps, the next run I get 45, then 30, then back
up to 80. What has me scratching my head, is I can turn off shadows and
volumetric lighting and it makes no difference on the score. In fact, a few
times, I set everything to minimum and it never would report more than
60fps, then I coudl reboot and it would report 200, but then back down to 40
on the enxt run.
Under XP with everything at MAX, noAA Trileaner filtering) I get 100-105
with shadows, 120-125 no shadows.
I have the ATI X1900XTX, so I'm guessing it's just a driver issue with that
game. Games like Doom3, HL2, Battlefield2 and2142 as well as 3dmark06 all
report normal expected numbers and are consistent every run.
