Unreal tournement 3 and LOTRO

hey everyone, i just got this nice gaming computer and tried to play UT3 and LOTRO and both of them won't play, they both load up a launch screen and freeze there! its driving me crazy...UT3 installed but won't start, and lotro stays at the launch screen. any help will be great.

You tried the usuall stuff IE running as administrator and using
compatibility mode, turning off UAC ?

im getting a UT3.exe is not responding. tried UAC off and running as admin.

User account control...to disable go to control panel then users then
untick the UAC then restart

yeah that didnt work, what i dont get is that Battlefield 2142 works, civ4 and crysis and gta4 all work except UT3 and LOTRO

Did you patch LOTRO sucessfully, or has it not patched for you? IOW, when
does it crash? Any error messages? What kind of system are you running on?

Not sure about UT3 but LOTRO needs .NET 1.1 installed to work.
